Ceramic Window Tint in Riverside, CA
Ceramic window tint is the film we recommend most for Inland Empire drivers. Nano ceramic particles reject infrared heat, the part of sunlight you feel on your arms and the back of your neck, without needing a dark shade to do it. Your cabin stays cooler, your A/C works less, and your phone, GPS and keyless entry keep working because the film has no metal in it.
What Makes Ceramic Tint Different
Most of the heat that builds up inside a parked car comes from infrared light. Dyed film darkens the glass but does little to stop infrared, so the car still feels hot. Carbon film does better. Nano ceramic film is built with ceramic particles that are tuned to reject infrared heat while letting visible light through, which is why a light ceramic shade can keep a car cooler than a dark dyed one.
Because the particles are ceramic rather than metal, the film does not interfere with cell service, GPS, satellite radio, toll tags or keyless entry. It also will not oxidize or turn purple over time, which is the most common complaint we hear from people who come in to replace cheap tint.
Ceramic vs Carbon vs Dyed Tint
Dyed film is the entry level option. It gives you privacy and a darker look at the lowest price, but it rejects the least heat and can fade over the years. Carbon film holds its color, looks matte and clean, and rejects noticeably more heat than dyed film. Ceramic film rejects the most heat and UV, stays clear for night driving, and is the one we suggest for anyone who spends real time in the car during a Riverside summer.
If you are deciding between carbon and ceramic, our ceramic vs carbon tint guide on the blog walks through heat rejection, clarity and cost side by side. You can also see both films on our sample board at the shop before you choose.
Choosing a Legal Shade in California
Shade is measured as VLT, the percentage of visible light the glass lets through. A lower number is darker. In California the rear side windows and back glass can be any darkness as long as the vehicle has two outside mirrors. The front side windows must still let at least 70% of light through once film and factory glass are combined, and the windshield can only have a non reflective strip along the top 4 inches.
That rule is exactly where ceramic film earns its price. Since the front windows have to stay light, a high quality light ceramic film is the best way to cut heat on the glass right next to you while staying legal. We will walk you through the options for your vehicle before we cut any film.
Cost and Warranty
Ceramic tint costs more than dyed or carbon film because the material costs more to make, and the price for your vehicle depends on how many windows it has, how curved the glass is, and whether old film has to be removed first. Call the shop or use the quote form and we will give you an exact number for your year, make and model.

Ceramic Window Tint FAQ
Is ceramic tint worth the extra cost?
If you drive in Inland Empire heat, yes for most people. It rejects much more heat than dyed film, keeps its color, and lets you stay legal on the front windows without giving up comfort.
Can ceramic tint be light and still block heat?
Yes. Ceramic film rejects infrared heat regardless of shade, so a light film on the front windows can still make a big difference.
Will ceramic tint affect my phone or GPS?
No. Nano ceramic film contains no metal, so it does not interfere with phones, GPS, radio or keyless entry.
How long does ceramic tint last?
Quality ceramic film is made to last for the life of the vehicle, and our install is backed by a lifetime workmanship warranty.
Which ceramic films do you install?
Our ceramic films come from Madico, Solar FX and Matiz Window Films, a local supplier. Ask at the shop and we will show you the samples.
